Just wanted to pop in for a minute to say that I'm still alive. I got hit with the flu back on the 17th, Elizabeth was gone for a solid week (!!!) to my mom's in the hopes she wouldn't catch it, and it has taken me until today to reestablish her faith in me again.
We do not do extended time apart very well.
We also switched my sewing room and her bedroom a few days after she came home (at her request) and so she's been adjusting to that as well.
That's really all I have.
FOR NOW.
*dun dun DUN*
I have a confession to make. My dirty little sewing secret, if you will.
This one thing that I NEVER do.
I never, EVER pick the buttons to go on Elizabeth's clothes.
Because the Boy Scout is NEVER, EVER wrong when he chooses.
This dress is a Junebug dress from Craftiness is Not Optional. I've made ten bajillion of Kristen's remixes, but never the original pattern. I just upped the size to fit 4t-tall two-year-old. My mom got the fabric at Sir's Fabrics in Fayetteville, TN and the buttons are from my grandmother's sewing room.
This is SO my county fair entry for this year!
Well, the time has come! I'm so excited about this. And I will admit freely that if you click any of the Buy It Now links in this post, I will be getting a cut of the sales. I don't *DO* stuff like that, right? Under usual circumstances, I'm all about not taking money for things that I've not done any work on. But y'all! SERIOUSLY.
By all means, read all the post below because Jenny at The Southern Institute worked really hard to make every bit of this amazing and bring all this awesome stuff together. But I'll be Captain Practical right here. Think about the number of gifts you have in a year. Birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, the holidays. Now, consider this. Every. Single. One. Of those events will be covered by this pattern pack. Every last stinkin' one!
My mom decides to travel more this year? She'll get a suitcase. Father's day? The Boy Scout is getting a Star Wars lunch bag. Someone has a baby and they get a bunny. There's a whole flock of little girls in my life and none of them have to have the same dress. My awesome sister? She can have her pick of tops or cowls or dresses. And for me? Replacing more throw-away wrappings with gift bags that will be used until I'm old and grey(er).
It's as easy as falling off a log - build an impressive, modern pattern collection that is infinitely useful in one fell swoop for WAY less than the cost of feeding the family at a fast food joint one time.
Then (and how I missed this I will NEVER know) there's a giveaway. A giveaway is so much fun - with very little effort you stand a chance to win so much neat stuff (I neeeeeed labels!)

Graphic design by Andrea Panell.Usually, I'm not much of one for advertising things (note the lack of ads on this blog) but sometimes, once in a blue moon, something really amazing shows up and I can't help but let everyone know. That is the case with this sale.
Come on. Eighteen (18!) of the best patterns from the best new pattern designers for less than the cost of three of them individually? You can do the math on that one yourselves. I don't have to tell you that this is an incredible deal. And if you know me, you know I am ALL ABOUT a deal.
PS - I've gotten a sneak peek at the lineup. All I'll say is this: there's something for EVERYONE.
